3.4.1.  Construction details.  Specific instruction details shall be
applied to the respective type and class of work table.
3.6.4.1.1.  Type I, classes 1 and 2.  The Instruction of type I, classes 1
and 2 tables shall be in accordance with Drawing 7541525. The sheet metal
used in the table construction shall be of a thickness that will enable the
work table to meet the performance requirement specif ied herein. The wood
top shall be bolted to the metal frame. The table shall be provided with a
locking devise to hold all the drawers ad doors in place and it shall be
retractable and secured under the wood top when not in use. The locking
device shall be designed and constructed to snugly lock against the drawers
and doors, precluding any looseness of locking pins on doors.  Loose parts,
such as locking pins, shall be fastened to the table with a chain. Hinged
doors shall be provided for the bottom shelves.  The drawers shall move freely
and without interference when fully loaded.  End drawers and those adjoining
the center support shall not bind when fully closed. The metal end and back
panels  shall  extend  from  the  bottom  of  the  lowest  shelf  level  to  1/2
inch
above the top surface of the upper shelf on both the class 1 and class 2 work
tables.
3.4.1.2.  Type II, classes 1 and 2.  The construction of type II, classes
1 and 2 work tables shall be in accordance with Drawing 7541668-1, -2. The

sheet metal used in the table constructing shall be of a thickness that will
enable the work tables to meet the performance requirements specified herein.
The wood top shall be holted to the metal frame. The metal enda and back
panels. shall extend from the bottom level of the lowest shelf to 1/2 inch
above the top surface of the upper shelf.
3.4.1.3.  Drawers and dividers.  The drawers of type I, classes 1 and 2
tables shall be of a welded instruction in conformance with Drawings 7550227,
7541543, 7541544, and 7541545. The sheet metal used in the drawers and
dividens construction shall be of thickness that will enable the drawers
dividers to meet the performance requirements specified herein. Three
dividers shall be furnished with each drawer.
3.4.3.  Surfaces.  The surface finish of all metal parts shall be smooth
and free from tool marks.  All edges shall be free of burrs and sharp corners.
3.4.4. Fastening devices.  All screws, pins, bits, and similar parts
shall be installed with means for preventing loss of tightness. All such
parts when subject to removal or adjustment shall not be swaged, peened,
staked, or otherwise permanently deformed.
3.4.5. Threads.  Screw threads shall comply with FED-STD-H28 and the
applicable detailed standards referenced therein.
