5.12 Level C. Each test set shall be individually packaged in a manner which will afford
adequate protection from deterioration and physical damage during shipment from the contractor
or supply source to the first receiving activity for immediate use.
5.2 Packing. Packing shall be level A or C as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2).
5.21 Level A. Each unit container, packaged as specified by 5.1.12 shall be packed either in
a wood, cleated-plywood box conforming to PPP-B-601, overseas type, Style A or B, average load
or a nailed wood box conforming to PPP-B-621, Class 2, Style 2, 2-1/2,3 or 4, bad-type 2, with
the lumber surfaced on both sides. When a nailed wooden box is used, lumber shall conform to
MIL-STD-731, Group I, Group II, Groups I and II or Group III.
5.2.2 Level C. Unit containers, packaged as specified by 5.1.2 shall be packed in a manner
which will provide protection from damage during direct shipment from the contractor or supply
source to the first receiving activity for immediate use. The type of containers a shall
conform to applicable carrier rules and regulations.
5.3 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order (see 6.2),
all marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1 29. The following marking shall appear on the
top, one end, and one side of each shipping container:

6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but
is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use The Test Set Mark 127 Mod 4 is used with interconnecting cable assemblies
and test adapters from Accessory Set, Mark 1 Mod 1 to perform tests on batteries for use in
underwater ordnance equipment.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following:
a. Title, number and date of this specification.
b. Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue of
individual documents referenced (see 21.1 and 21-2).
c. Whether a first article inspection is required (see 3.1 and 4.4).
d. Any data required (see 3.2).
e. The agency that is to perform the inspection (see 4.1).
