- Initial warm-up of the fluid
3.4.3.7.2.2.1 Warm-up time (to
from 60F to operating temperature shall not require in excess of 15 minutes
(see 6.3.3(e)).
3.4.3.7.2.3 Heating above 180F - Temperatures over 180F shall be
obtained by the use of steam, The heat exchanger shall provide heating to the
specified temperature when operating at an ambient temperature of 60" I?. All
components of the steam system, including steam pressure regulator and con-
densate trap shall be provided with the unit (see 6.3. 3(d)).
- Initial warm-up of the

fluid from 60F to operating temperature shall not require in excess of 15 minutes
(see 6.3, 3(e)).
3.4.3.7.2.4 Flow (heat exchanger) - Flow of hot or cold water shall
not exceed 0.5 gallon per minute per horsepower input to the fluid system (see
6, 3. 3(f)).
Overpressure protection - Relief valves shall be provided
3.4.3.8
on the discharge side of all pumps that are capable of damaging the test equipment
or the item under test.
Relief valves - High-pressure relief valves shall be pilot
3.4.3.8.1
operated and shall reseat at 85 percent of pressure setting. Differential pres-
sure operating range of relief valves shall not exceed 15 percent of setting, and
shall not chatter. Relief valves installed in metered lines shall indicate any leak-
age by means of a visible drip indicator located on the front panel (see 6.3.3(g)).
Accumulators - Accumulators shall be of the piston type in
3.4.3.9
accordance with MIL-A-5498. Means shall be provided for relief of accumulator
gas and hydraulic pressure.
Surge tanks - Surge tanks shall not permit the gas charge
3.4.3.9.1
to come in physical contact with the hydraulic fluid.
Charge gas - The charge gas for accumulators and surge
