Manometers - Type and range of manometers shall be as
3.4.4.9
specified in the detail specification, Absolute pressure manometers used for
setting Up density shall be of the density-calculating type and shall be calibrated
for the densities specified in the detail specification.
Pressure - All manometers shall withstand 125 percent of
3.4.4.9.1
operating pressure without leakage or permanent distortion.
Valves - Suitable valves (including a fluid
3.4.4.9.2
trap) which will prevent the indicating fluid from being forced out of the mano-
meter shall be installed at the top of the manometer column and in the well con-
nection.
Specific gravity testers - All fuel component test equip-
3.4.4.10
ment shall be equipped with a suitable specific gravity tester having an accuracy
percent. A thermometer shall be provided with the tester or shall be in-
of --
stalled in the fluid stream to the tester.
Range - The hydrometer for the specific gravity tester shall
3.4.4.10.1
be selected for range of fluid being used and shall not rotate in the well.
Well - The hydrometer well shall be provided with valves
3.4.4.10.2
to allow fresh samples of the circulation fluid to be taken, tested, and returned
to the tanks.
Flow specific gravity tester) - Flow through the hydro-
3.4.4.10.3
meter shall not be indicated on the flowmeter.
Torque measuring equipment - Where it is necessary to
3.4.4.11
measure the torque required to drive the item on test, a direct-indicating torque
meter shall be provided, Dead-weight type equipment adaptation shall also be
provided on the test stand to check the calibration of the torque meter.
Viscosimeters - A viscosimeter shall be provided as a
3.4.4.12
component on the test equipment. Viscosimeters shall be provided with valves
to allow fresh samples of circulating fluid to be `taken, tested, and returned to the
reservoir.
Readable accuracy - The instruments shall be selected so
3.4.4.13
that they are readable to the accuracy described in this and the detail specifica-
tions.
Controls -
3.4.5
