4.5.2 Temperature and humidity
4.5.2.1 High temperature and humidity, nonoperating. The beacon light
shall be subjected to the "High temperature and humidity, nonoperating"
test of MIL-E-82590 and thereafter shall meet the requirements of 3.5.2.1.
4.5.2.2 High temperature, operating.  The beacon light shall be sub-
jected to the "High temperature, operating" test of MIL-E-82590 and, while
at the test temperature, shall meet the requirements of 3.5.2.2.
4.5.2.3 Low temperature, nonoperating.  The beacon light shall be sub-
jected to the "LOW temperature, nonoperating" test of MIL-E-82590 and
thereafter shall meet the requirements of 3.5.2.3.
4.5.2.4 Low temperature, operating.  The beacon light shall be subjected
to the "Low temperature, operating" test of MIL-E-82590 and, while at the
test temperature, shall meet the requirements of 3.5.2.4.
4.5.3  Operating life.  After completion of all other preproduction
tests, the torpedo beacon light shall be operated and periodically tested
for satisfactory operation until a total of 250 hours operating time has
elapsed (including operating the elapsed during the performance of the
tests under 4.5.1 through 4.5.2.4) and then shall again pass the quality
conformance tests of 4.4 and operate satisfactorily.  Test conditions dur-
ing the operating life test may be any condition, or combination of
conditions of ambient temperature, humidity, and marine environment that
are specified in the other tests.  Operating time shall be considered as
time during which the torpedo beacon light is actually performing its
intended use, and does not include time during which it is in "ready" or
"standby" condition.

5.1
Reservation and packaging
5.1.1 Level A
5.1.1.1 Cleaninq.  Unless otherwise specified, the torpedo beacon light
assembly exterior surfaces only shall be cleaned in accordance with Process
C-1 or MIL-P-116.
5.1.1.2 Drying.  Unless otherwise specified, the torpedo beacon light
assembly shall be dried in accordance with one or more of the procedures
of MIL-P-116, provided the procedure is not injurious to item.
5.1..1.3 Preservative application. None.
