3.4.8 Landing leg. A retractable landing leg with caster landing wheel shall be provided on
the tongue of the trailer, and shall be capable of supporting its portion of the trailer gross weight.
The cranking handle shall be permanently installed. With the trailer resting in a level position on
level ground, the landing leg and wheel shall be extendable to permit detaching trailer from the
towing vehicle.
3.4.8.1 Landing leg supporting ability. With the trailer parked in a level position on level
ground, the landing leg assembly shall support the loads imposed throughout the full extension
of the landing leg.
