WARNING EYE HAZARD
THE LASER BEAM CAN BE DANGEROUS AND CAUSE BLINDNESS IF IT ENTERS THE
EYES EITHER DIRECTLY OR REFLECTED OFF OF A REFLECTED SURFACE. BEFORE
FIRING THE LASER, OPERATOR SHOULD TAKE ADEQUATE PRECAUTIONS TO ASSURE
MAXIMUM SAFETY.
This Specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies
of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. - This specification covers a helium neon plasma laser
tube consisting of a plasma tube, a ballast resistor, and high voltage
plug-in connectors, encapsulated in an austenitic corrosion-resistant
steel cylindrical case (see 6.1).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
2.1 The following documents of the issue in effect on date of
invitation for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this
specification to the extent specified herein.
