MILITARY SPECIFICATION
TAMPER, RAM TYPE, GENERAL BACKFILL, GASOLINE ENGINE
POWERED, HAND OPERATED, COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT (CCE)
This specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of
Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers a commercial, hand operated, gasoline-engine-
powered, ram type, general backfill, soil tamper.
1.2 Classification.
Type I - 1000 pounds of applied force (minimum).
Type II - 1400 pounds of applied force (minimum).
2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS.
2.1 Government documents.
2.1.1 Specifications, standards, and handbooks. The following specifications, standards and
handbooks form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise
specified, the issues of these documents shall be those listed in the issue of the Department of
Defense Index of Specification and Standards (DODISS) and supplement thereto, cited in the
solicitation.
Beneficial comments (recommendations, additions, deletions) and any pertinent data which
may be of use in improving this document should be addressed to: USA Belvoir Research,
Development, and Engineering Center, ATTN: STRBE-TSE, Fort Belvoir, VA 22060-5606
