6.3 Definition.
6.3.1 Mechanical failure. Mechanical failure is any deformation or breakage of a part, the occurrence
of which is other than a design function.
6.4 Exterior components. Remanufactured exterior components are: body, head, trunnion, end sleeve,
and holding ring.
6.5 Remanufacture and conversion.
6.5.1 The head components are acceptable as shown on Drawing 8593882. The shear pin hole diameter
should be .058 + .005 inch. Non-functioning setscrew holes are permitted, but should be filled with barrier
compound and modified to allow for nylon pellets.
6.5.2 The body components are acceptable in any of the following configurations:
a. they meet all requirements of Drawing 8593884.
b. they meet all the requirements of 8593884 except contain three .185 .002 diameter nylon pellets
spaced 45 degrees apart and located .491 .010 inch from center of pellet to end of body.
c. they meet all the requirements of Drawing 8593884 except contain three .185 .002 diameter nylon
pellets spaced 45 degrees apart and located .405 .010 inch from center of pellet to end of body.
6.6 Old engraved or stamped lot and serial numbers. Old serial numbers and lot numbers engraved
or stamped on metal parts shall be over-stamped by x's to obliterate those markings before application of final
protective finish.
6.7 Subject term (keyword) listing.

6.8 Changes from previous issue. Marginal notations are not used to identify changes with respect to
the previous issue because of the extensiveness of the changes.
