6.3 Performance prediction. SAE Truck Ability Prediction Procedure computations and
computations for low speed and maximum geared speed will be required by the contractor. The
SAE Work Sheet item 1 should include vehicle model number, engine model number, and
vehicle type, class and model. Unless other conditions are cited in the contract, computations
should be made for normal atmospheric pressure, normal ambient air temperature, and still dry
air. The factors to be used in predicting truck ability (see 3.3.1.1) are established as follows for
the corresponding SAE Truck Ability Prediction Procedure Tables:
