pilot check valve which will hold the outrigger in the retracted position without settling and

3.6.7.1.2 Outrigger pads. Each outrigger shall be provided with a ground pad. Ground pads
shall be of the hinged or fixed type. Each pad shall have a ground contact surface of not less
than 929 cm (144 square inches) for sizes 30 through 50, and not less than 2065 cm
(320 square inches) for all other sizes. In order to provide the 2065 cm (320 square-inch)
ground contact per pad, a portable pad for each outrigger may be furnished to be used in
conjunction with manufacturer's standard pads. The portable pads shall be steel plates equipped
with a handle. The vehicle body shall be equipped with secure stowage provisions for the
portable pads. The stowage provisions shall be designed so as to prevent loss of the pads due to
vehicle motion.
3.6.7.1.3 Outrigger warning light. A red warning light shall be installed in the cab in a
conspicuous location to warn the driver when the outriggers are extended.
3.6.7.1.4 Circular level. A circular level, with 0 to 5 degrees reading, shall be furnished. The
circular level shall be mounted in a protected position, visible from all outrigger controls. The
circular level shall indicate the degree of body level as the outriggers are maneuvered.
The circular level shall be corrosion-resistant and resistant to inclement weather. A
corrosion-resistant warning plate shall be mounted adjacent to the level to indicate the maximum
longitudinal incline and the maximum transverse slope in degrees on which the vehicle is
capable of safely operating.
3.6.8 Hydraulic system. A hydraulic fluid, nonconductive system consisting of all
components required to perform all hydraulic operations of the boom assembly and outriggers
with the degree of control specified herein shall be provided. The hydraulic system shall also
include the components required to power the front mounted winch, when required (see 3.4.22).
Mechanisms and reservoirs shall be positioned or shielded to prevent hazardous fluid contact
with heated surfaces or electrical apparatus. A two-speed manual or an automatic hydraulic
throttle actuator shall be furnished which increases the speed of the truck engine (and auxiliary
engine, when furnished) when the pump is being loaded. An accumulator may be used as a
component of the hydraulic system to provide the maximum degree of temperature control under
continuous service. All hydraulic components shall comply with ANSI A92.2.
3.6.8.1 Hydraulic cylinders. All hydraulic cylinders shall incorporate seals to prevent
entrance of moisture and dirt into the cylinders and leaks of hydraulic fluid from the cylinders.
Preformed packings shall be used in the cylinders where static seals are required.
Manufacturer's standard seals shall be furnished where applied to reciprocating parts. All
