MIL-V-62008B(AT)
of carrying low-pressure air from the gas particulate subsystem. Sealed hydraulic fluid passage
in the slipring shall be capable of carrying supply pressure, return pressure, and drain pressure
for the vehicle hydraulic control system.
3.4.9.4 Cupola slipring. The slipring assembly shall provide uninterrupted power
continuity of seven electrical circuits between the turret and cupola. Operation of the slipring
shall not introduce static of any kind into the communication system.
3.4.9.5 Auxiliary outlet. Two outlets (24 direct current volts [vdc] nominal), one each in
the turret and hull shall be provided that will mate with the OVE trouble light assemblies. Each
auxiliary outlet circuit shall be protected with 15 ampere automatic reset circuit breaker.
3.4.9.6 Searchlight system.
3.4.9.6.1 Vehicle and searchlight interface. Vehicle and searchlight requirements
without searchlight installed are as follows:
a. The searchlight power circuits shall be capable of providing vehicle power for
operating and controlling the searchlight.
b. The searchlight circuit shall be protected with a 60 ampere automatic reset
circuit breaker.
c. Mounting provisions shall be provided for searchlight and control box
installation.
3.4.9.6.2 Searchlight. With the vehicle in a level position and the main gun at 5 mils
elevation and balanced, the installed searchlight shall be capable of the following:
a. Be operable from either the remote control box or the main control box.
b. Have 89 mils ( 5) of adjustment in the elevation and traverse screws.
3.4.9.7 Generator voltage. With the engine operating at a minimum of 1000 revolutions
per minute (rpm), the vehicle generator shall deliver between 25.8 volts and 30.2 volts at the
battery under all conditions of vehicle operation with the generator fording switch "on". The
battery voltage shall be not less than 18.5 volts when the hydraulic power pack is energized.
3.4.9.8 Generator blower motor. The generator blower motor shall be capable of
maintaining constant flow of air through generator with the generator fording switch "on".
3.4.9.9 Passive driver's night viewer power circuit. The voltage output at the passive
driver's night viewer connector shall be within 0.2 volts of the positive battery potential when
operating into a 1 ampere load.
3.4.9.10 Power plant electrical. The engine electrical installation shall contain the
sending units necessary to provide engine data in the form of electrical signals to the driver
instrument panel as required and shall include an engine electrical disconnect to facilitate engine
