3.5.21.4 Lamp test. The LAMP TEST/BRT (lamp test/brightness) key shall provide a menu
to examine and change the lamp brightness value, and to perform a lamp test. The power-up
value for lamp brightness shall be 9 (full brightness). By entering in numbers between
0 (minimum brightness) and 9, the brightness shall be varied. The lamp test shall test the
alphanumeric display by lighting each dot in each character, in groups of four characters, at a
rate of one second per group. After testing the display, all status lamps and the trigger lamp on
the hand control shall illuminate for three seconds (see 4.6.4.20.4).
3.5.21.5 G/VLLD reticle brightness (GLLD RET BRT) key. The GLLD RET BRT key
shall provide a menu to enter and examine the G/VLLD reticle brightness value. A brightness of
zero shall set the reticle brightness to the same level as a minimum value of one, but shall cause
the numeric display in the G/VLLD optics to be turned off except when the laser is fired.
Maximum brightness shall be nine and the power-up brightness value shall be one
(see 4.6.4.20.5).
3.5.22 Digital message device (DMD). The FISTV vehicle shall have provisions for
accepting either the single channel AN/PSG-2A DMD or the four channel AN/PSG-5 FIST
DMD, along with the DMD mount (see 4.6.4.21).
