4.6.4.14 Ramp system. To determine conformance to 3.5.15, the ramp hydraulic system
shall be operated and examined for evidence of leaks. The ramp shall be operated to fully
opened and closed positions and observed for specified requirements.
4.6.4.15 Bilge pumps. To determine conformance to 3.5.16, with sufficient water in the
vehicle hull, the bilge pumps shall be operated and observed for functional requirements.
4.6.4.16 Trim vane. To determine conformance to 3.5.17, it shall be verified that the trim
vane is properly engaged in the extended, retracted and released positions without binding or
excessive looseness.
4.6.4.17 Turning radius. To determine conformance to 3.5.18, the FISTV vehicle shall be
operated as specified, turned to the right and to the left a full 360 degrees and performance shall
be observed.
4.6.4.18 Optics.
4.6.4.18.1 Vision devices. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.1, all vision devices shall be
examined for functional requirements.
4.6.4.18.2 Panoramic telescope. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.2, the panoramic
telescope shall be examined for functional requirements.
4.6.4.18.3 Night vision. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.3, the night sight shall be
inspected to verify specified driving performance. It shall be verified that an M19 periscope is
provided.
4.6.4.18.3.1 Night sight controls. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.3.1, the night sight
controls shall be connected, operated and disconnected 10 times with no degradation of
performance.
4.6.4.18.4 ITA. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.4, the ITA shall be operated and
examined for functional requirements.
4.6.4.18.4.1 Sight selection. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.4.1, ITA sight controls
shall be verified by selecting the 3X, 13X and night options, and verifying that the optical
transfer occurs within the specified times.
4.6.4.18.4.2 Image quality.
4.6.4.18.4.2.1 Image movement. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.4.2.1, the ITA shall
be visually examined during the optical tracking tests to verify that the ITA exhibits no random
motion of the image that would impair tracking.
4.6.4.18.4.2.2 Internal atmosphere. To determine conformance to 3.5.19.4.2.2, the ITA shall
be visually examined to verify that there is no evidence of internal moisture or image fogging.
