MIL-V-62475(AT)
4.6.4.22 G/VLLD. To determine conformance to 3.5.23, the G/VLLD shall be operated to
verify that it functions according to the specified requirements. Except as otherwise specified
herein, any testing involving the G/VLLD requires that the laser inhibit plug be installed.
Production G/VLLD simulated firing with inhibit plugs installed shall provide a reference range
of 9760.
4.6.4.22.1 G/VLLD remote controls. To determine conformance to 3.5.23.1, the dust cover
controls shall be activated and demonstrated to be operational.
4.6.4.23 NSG.
4.6.4.23.1 NSG lamps. To determine conformance to 3.5.24.1, the NSG lamps on the TSCD
front panel shall be observed and timed.
4.6.4.24 Electrical system. To determine conformance to 3.5.25, electrical circuits
supplying power to vehicle equipment shall be tested to assure continuity and integrity. Circuits
tested for continuity prior to vehicle installation, and targeting station power circuitry and circuit
functions shall be verified by evidence of functional performance during operational tests. The
vehicle radios shall be operated to verify transmission and reception, and it shall be verified by
evidence of operational performance that the FISTV electrical system is compatible with the
vehicle power supply, which conforms to the requirements of MIL-STD-1275.
4.6.4.24.1 Winterization equipment. To determine conformance to 3.5.25.1, the FISTV
vehicle shall sit idle for the length of time specified at -65F (-54C) and then it shall be verified
that the engine starts after the cold soak period.
4.6.4.24.2 Emergency power. To determine conformance to 3.5.25.2, the following tests
shall be done to verify emergency power. With the vehicle battery and emergency power
switched ON and the equipment battery OFF, the TSCD shall be powered up and operated. With
the equipment battery and emergency power switched ON and the vehicle battery OFF, the
engine shall be started.
4.6.4.24.3 Lights. To determine conformance to 3.5.25.3, all FISTV vehicle lighting,
including running lights, driver's console lights, azimuth position indicator and driver level
illuminator azimuth scale illumination, targeting station indicators, TSCD display, dome lights,
utility lights and the gooseneck light, shall be operated during and after road testing through all
stages of operation.
4.6.4.24.4 Slip ring. To determine conformance to 3.5.25.4, it shall be verified that the slip
ring shall provide continuous contact throughout a bi-directional 360. It shall also be verified
that operation of the slip ring shall not cause enough noise or static to degrade required
communications.
