MIL-V-82466(OS)
4.5.4 Test procedure
4.5.4.1 Pressure test.  Connect a supply of regulated clean, dry air
at 800 pounds per square inch pressure to the high-pressure air inlet of
Vacuum-Air-Nitrogen Distribution Panel 1874090. To one of four Sockets
1390590 of Pressure Hose Assembly 1443812, connect an 800 pounds per square
inch air gage calibrated in one pound per square inch increments.  With the
regulator valve closed (spindle backed out), open the inlet valve. No
pressure should register at the outlet.  Slowly open the regulator valve,
and check the following:
4.5.4.1.1 Pressure change.
The pressure shall increase evenly and
smoothly.
4.5.4.1.2 Maximum pressure.  With regulator fully opened, 800 pounds
per square inch shall be registered at the outlet.
4.5.4.1.3 Leakage.
There shall be no drop in pressure with the inlet
valve closed.
4.5.4.1.4 Gage 2482217, shown on Drawing 1874090, shall be recalibrated
for accuracy at end of above test.
4.5.4.2 Vacuum and nitrogen test preparation.
Connect a 50 to 400
pound per square inch supply of nitrogen to the nitrogen inlet, and
connect a differential manometer to Socket 1390590 of Vacuum Hose Assembly
1263337.
4.5.4.3 Vacuum test.  With Regulator Valve 1263313 closed, Toggle Valve
1390811 closed, and Toggle Valve 1263617 open, start the vacuum pump and
draw a vacuum of 25 inches of mercury, as read on the manometer.  The
compound gage shall register the same as the manometer within plus or
minus 0.1 percent.  The time required for the pump to draw this vacuum
shall not exceed five seconds.
4.5.4.3.1 Leakage.  Toggle Valve 1263617 and stop the pump.  After a
time lapse of five minutes there shall be no change in the manometer
reading.
4.5.4.4 Nitrogen test.  With Toggle Valve 1390811 open and Toggle
Valve 1263617 closed, open the nitrogen inlet valve and operate the
regulator until O pounds per square inch is registered on the manometer.
The pressure change shall be smooth and even.
4.5.4.4.1 Relief valve operation.
Increase the nitrogen pressure until
Relief Valve 1390424 operates.  Operating pressure shall be 25 plus or
minus one pound per square inch.
