6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following:
(a)
Title, number, and date of this specification.
(b)
Time frame required for submission of preproduction model (see 3.2).
(c)
When an initial production unit is required (see 3.3).
(d)
Number of units required for initial production inspection (see 3.3).
(e)
Whether the dolly shall be furnished by the supplier or will be furnished by the
Government (see 3.15 and 6.4).
(f)
Grade of military oil required to service washing and screening unit (see 3.20.6).
(g)
Technical publications required (see 3.27).
(h)
Applicable list of repair parts and maintenance tools (see 3.28).
(i)
Time frame required for submission of preproduction pack (see 5.1).
(j)
Levels of preservation, packaging, and packing (see 5.2 and 5.3). Level B
preservation and packaging is intended to provide economical but limited protection
and should be specified only when it is determined the washing and screening units
will be held in covered storage.
6.3 Preproduction model. Any changes or deviations of production units from the approved
preproduction model during production will be subject to the approval of the contracting officer.
Approval of the preproduction model will not relieve the supplier of his obligation to furnish
units conforming to this specification.
6.4 Government-furnished property. The contracting officer should arrange to furnish the
M354 dolly when required (see 3.15.1 and 6.2).
6.5 Lubricants. The contracting officer should furnish a list of military lubricants applicable
to the washing and screening unit covered by this specification as contained in the Federal
Supply Catalog, DOD Section, Identification List C9100-IL for FSC Group 91.
6.6 Government loaned property. The contracting officer should arrange to loan the
property listed in 3.31.
6.7 Preproduction pack. Any changes or deviations of production packs from the approved
preproduction pack will be subject to the approval of the contracting officer. Approval of the
preproduction pack will not relieve the supplier of his obligation to preserve, package, pack, and
mark the units in accordance with this specification.
