defects, each item covered by this specification shall be subjected to random
vibration tests in accordance with MIL-A-85055.
4.3.1.4 Operational Tests - The WDC shall be subjected to the operational
tests specified in Table VIII, in accordance with test procedures prepared and
submitted by the contractor" and approved by the procuring activity. The
test procedure requiremants are outlined in 4.6.2. During the operational
tests, each unit under test shall be operated long enough to permit temperature
stabilization and to provide sufficient time to check applicable characteristics
and to record adequate data to assure satisfactory operation.  Acceptance
operational tests shall be performed prior to and after the completion of
the Reliability Assurance (All Equipment Burn-in) tests.
.
4.3.1.5  Optional Manufacturer's Burn-in - Optional burn-in tests may
be performed by the contractor in preparation for the reliability assurance
tests.
4.3.2 Reliability Assurance Tests (RAT) - Reliability Assurance Test
includes both Qualification and All Equipment Burn-In Test.
4.3.2.1Qualification Phase Test - Prior to the acceptance of equipments
under the contract or order, a minimum of three (3) equipments shall be
tested as outlined in MIL-STD-781B, under the section entitled "Qualification
Phase of Production Reliability Tests".  The maximum number of equipments
to be used shall be those listed in Table 5 of MIL-STD-781B. For the
qualification phase, test levels specified in paragraph 3.3.9 of this
specification shall be used.  The Accept-Reject Criteria for Test Plan IV
shall be used.  Failures shall be classified in accordance with MIL-STD-2074.
4.3.2.2 All Equipment Burn-In Test - Each equipment submitted for acceptance
except those equipments submitted for qualifcation testing shall receive
a minimum 200 hours burn-in with the last 100 hours failure free.  Test
level E of MIL-STD-781B shall be used except that random vibration of Figure 2
for 10 minutes shall be applied as a minimum in an axis or axes deemed most
susceptible prior to and at the completion of the 100 hour failure free
period.  If a failure occurs during the failure free period the test shall
be continued until 100 hours of test are failure free. All failures and failure
free test time no matter how many repeats shall be totaled and the results
compared with the reject line of Test Plan II of MIL-STD-781B. If the plotted
data crosses the reject line, then the procuring activity shall be notified
immediately and corrective action in accordance with paragraphs 5.4.8.5
and 5.7 of MIL-STD-781B shall be instituted.  The test levels specified
in paragraph 3.3.9 of this specification shall be used.
