MIL-F-50253A (AR)
4.5.3.2 M423/M427 Fuzes.-  The assembled fuze shall be
armed on a centrifuge by application of 40.0 gravities "g's"
maximum for a minimum of three (3) seconds which simulates a
rocket launching.  Radiographic inspection shall be utilized
to verify that each unit is armed and has no defective or missing
internal parts.  For functioning, each fuze shall be positioned
vertically on top of an aluminum witness block.  Each fuze shall
be functional by dropping a fifty (SO) to fifty-one (51) pound
weight from a height of 5.0 feet to 5.5 feet onto the nose of the
fuze.  The weight shall be dropped only once. High order
detonation shall be determined by a 0.25 inch minimum dent in
the cylindrical witness block (1.5 inch minimum height by 2.0
inch minimum diameter of 2011-T3 aluminm).
WARNING:  This test is dangerous and must be performed
behind a suitable barricade.
4.5.3.3 M433 Fuze.-  The assembled fuze shall be charged
for a delay time of  OMS and then armed on a centrifuge by
application of 40.0 g's maximum for a minimum of (3) seconds
which simulates rocket launch.  Electrical inspections, via
the umbilical, shall verify that each unit is armed.  The fuze
shall then be placed on the test firing fixture and the fuze
impact sensor probe actutated.  After a 20MS delay the M433 fuze
shall detonate high order.  The delay time need not be recorded
for this test.  A government approved simulated fuze may be used
in place of an actual M433 fuze, in which case centrifuging and
radiographic inspections are not required.  The fuze or test
fixture must employ an M433 S&A device containing an M84 electric
detonator or equivalent.  The S&A device need not be operational,
but must be capable of being armed when used in the simulated
M423 test fixture.  Functional (electrical) energ of not less
than 750 ergs shall be applied to the detonator electrical
contacts in the simulated test fixture.
In either case, high order detonation shall be determined
by a 0.25 inch minimum dent in the cylindrical witness block
(1. 5 inch minimum height by 2.0 inch minimum diameter of
2011-T3 aluminum).
WARNING:  This test is dangerous and must be performed
behind a suitable barricade.
4.5.4 Ballistic Test.
4.5.4.1 Ballistic Sampling and Acceptance Criteria.-  This
test shall be performed on warhea d-fuze combination lots
