4. 4.3 Testing
4. 4.3.1 Dimensional and weight control of booster pellet (See
Dwg . 9292604).  The dimensions  and weight specified in paragraph
4.4.2.1 for the booster pellets shall be checked by randomly
selecting three (3) samples from the quantity produced by each
press during a period not to exceed four (4) hours.  The quantity

4.4.3.2 Lot acceptance testing.

a.  Transportation Vibration (TV) in accordance with
MIL-STD-331, Test No. 119, Procedure 2 (without borerider clip
installed) .
b.  Temperature conditioning (after TV and without
borerider clip installed) for a minimum of 4 hrs. at hot (145
+5F), ambient (70 +lOF) , and cold (minus 40 -5F) .
c. The preconditioned test units shall have the
borerider pin and retaining clip installed and functioned per
4.4.2.6, prevailing ambient.
4.4.4 Inspection equipment.  The inspection equipment
required to perform the examinations and tests prescribed herein
is described in the "Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method" column
in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1.  The contractor
shall submit inspection equipment designs to the Government for
approval in accordance with the terms of the contract.  See
Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and 6.3 herein.
4.4.5 Launch simulator.  An air gun shall be used as a
launcher for lot acceptance testing.  Design to be submitted in
accordance with 6.3.  The air gun shall have the following
features:
a.  Impart sufficient velocity to the mines to provide
impacts of 150 + 6.0 feet per second (fps).
b.  Provide for borerider release after ejection from the
muzzle but prior to impact,  (launch with borerider pin and
borerider clip installed).
c.  Provide the interface with the SD setter to initiate
the mine prior to/at launch.
