Sampling for examination shall be in accordance with
4.4.1 Sampling.
MIL-STD-105.
4.4.2 Examination.  Samples selected in accordance with 4.4.1 shall be
examined for the major and minor defects specified in 4.5.1. AQL shall be 1.0
percent defective for major defects and 4.0 percent defective for minor defects.
4.4.3 Tests.  Each sprayer shall be tested as specified in 4.5.2.3 except
that pumping operations shall be conducted three times in lieu of 15 times and
the operational time shall be 45 minutes in lieu of 8 hours-  One out of every
five units shall be tested as specified in 4.5.2.4.  Failure of either of the
tests shall be cause for rejection.
4.5 Inspection procedure.
The sprayer shall be examined as specified herein for the

Length of discharge, by-pass and suction hoses not as specified.

Lubrication devices not accessible or not as specified.

identical with approved model.

Leakage of any component.

Treatment and painting not as specified.

Tests.
4.5.2
4.5.2.1 Test preparation.  Prior to the start of test, the sprayer shall be
prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
4.5.2.2 Road tests.  Mount the sprayer on an appropriate vehicle and perform
the following tests prior to the performance test specified in 4.5.2.3.
a. Unimproved roads.  Drive the properly mounted sprayer 10 miles on
unimproved roads at maximum safe speeds.  The course shall consist of
poorly maintained gravel and dirt roads with moderate washboarding,
rutting, and occasional potholes.  The sprayer will not be operated
during this test.
