Individual drawings required for the manufacture of the clamps will be specified
at the time of procurement (see 6.2).
(Copies of specifications, standards, drawings, and publications required by
suppliers in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained
from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer. )
2.2 Other publications. The following document forms a part of this specification
to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise indicated, the issue in effect on
date of invitation for bids or request for proposal shall apply.

(Application for copies of these ratings, rules and regulations should be addressed

3 . REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Materials. The wire used to manufacture the clamps shall conform to steel
composition number 1010, finish 4, class 1 of QQ-W-461 , All other materials
shal I conform to the requirements on the applicable drawing.
3.2 Manufacture. The clamps shal I be manufactured in accordance with the
applicable drawing (see 6.2) and the requirements of this specification.
3.3 Tensile strength. The tensile strength of the brazed or welded joint shalI be
no less than 90 pounds when tested as specified in 4.2.4. When the joint is at the
alternate location, the tensile strength of the clamp or joint shall be no less than
180 pounds,
3.4 Protrusion of braze or weld. The protrusion of the braze or weld due to mis-
alignment of the ends of the wire or excess braze or weld metal, shalI be no more than
one-sixty-fourth of an inch beyond the normal surface of the wire.
