4.2.3.3 Classification of defects.

4.2.4 Tensile strength test. The tensile strength of the brazed or welded ioint
shall be determined in accordance with method 211.1 of FE D-STD-151 . If the braze
or weld is made at the alternate location (see applicable drawing), the strength of
the braze or weld shut I be tested by inserting a mandrel in the end loop of the clamp
which includes the braze or weld then attaching the mandrel to one jaw of the testing
machine. The other end of the clamp shall be held in the other jaw. The radius of the
mandrel used shall be the same as the inside radius of the loop at the end of the clamp.
5. PREPARATION FOR DELlVERY
5.1 Packaging, level C. The wire clamps shall be packaged to provide adequate
protection against corrosion, deterioration, and damage from the supply source to the
first receiving activity for immediate use.
5.2 Packing, level C. The wire clamps, packaged as specified in 5.1, shall be
pocked to insure carrier acceptance and safe delivery to the first domestic destination.
Containers shall be in compl ionce with Uniform Freight Classification rules or the regu-
lations of other common carriers applicable to the mode of transportation.
5.3 Marking. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or order,
unit and intermediate packages and shipping containers shal I be marked in accordance
with MI L-STD-129.
