| MIL-C-38418E(AS)
3.6.10 Balance - The directional gyro shall be so balanced that the
apparent drift due to the earth's rotation is equal to the product of the
sine of the latitude of operation and 15 per hour in a
counterclockwise (ccw) direction in the Northern Hemisphere and in a
clockwise (cw) direction in the Southern Hemisphere.
3.6.11 Maximum Drift - The maximum drift of the directional gyro shall
not exceed 1.00 per hour from the computed apparent drift for the
latitude of operation at room temperature.
3.6.11.1 Random Drift - With normal distribution, the random drift of
the directional gyro shall not exceed 0.250 per hour - one sigma.
3.6.12 Electrical Connector - The electrical connector shall be in
accordance with table I and figure 2.
3.6.13 Weight - The weight of the displacement gyroscope shall not exceed
10.2 pounds including the vibration isolator.
3.6.14 Dimensions - The dimensions of the displacement gyroscope shall be
in "accordance with figure 2.
3.6.15 Mounting - The mounting of the displacement gyroscope shall be in
accordance with figure 2 and shall be such that the displacement
reference will not deflect by more than 0.1 in pitch, roll, or
azimuth as a result of accelerations or any vibration between 0 and 18 Hz
with a double amplitude of 0.020 inch. The torsional resonant frequency
shall be greater than 18 Hz in pitch, roll, and azimuth.
3.6.16 Elapsed Time Indicator - The displacement gyroscope shall contain
an elapsed time indicator (ETI) conforming to MS17322 and MIL-M-7793
having a range of at least 9,999 hours. The ETI shall be located as
shown in figure 2 and shall be visible without disassembly of the
displacement gyroscope case.
3.6.17 Color - The color of the displacement gyroscope shall be gray in
accordance with FED-STD-595, Color No. 36231.
3.7
ASK-32/A24G-39 or ASK-44/A24G Electronic Control Amplifier - The
electronic control amplifier shall contain the azimuth servo amplifier,
slaving amplifier, deviation compensator, turn and acceleration control
functions,
fast
synchronization
circuitry,
malfunction
monitoring
circuitry, and associated power supplies.
It also shall function as a
system interconnection box with connectors as shown in tables III, IV, V,
