The DCK-129/A24G and DCK-235/A24G lighting (red, 5.0V) shall
meet the color requirements of MIL-L-25467
and
the
brightness
requirements of MIL-P-7788.
e.
The DCK-228/A24G and DCK-236/A24G lighting (white 5.0V) shall
meet the color requirements for Instrument and Panel Lighting, Type 1 (g)
of MIL-C-25050 and the brightness requirements of MIL-P-7788.
f.
The lighting of the mode selector switch knob for the
DCK-234/A24G, DCK-235/A24G, and DCK-236/A24G shall conform to the
requirements of MS21384-16.
3.8.1 Prime Standard - The prime standard shall meet the requirements of
3.8. Panel lighting shall be compared to and shall balance in brightness
and color with the prime standard.
3.8.2 Mode Selector Switch Functions - A mode selector switch shall be
provided for selecting any of the following three modes of operation:
a.
SLAVED - In the SLAVED mode, the control assembly shall
operate as a gyro stabilized magnetic compass.
b. DG - In the DG mode, the control assembly shall provide
heading when operated independently of the magnetic azimuth detector as a
latitude corrected directional gyroscope.
c.
COMP (compass) or EMERG (emergency) - In the compass or
emergency mode, the control assembly shall be directly slaved to the
magnetic azimuth detector. During this mode, the autopilot interlocks
shall be activated.
Use of this mode shall be limited to flight
emergencies only.
3.8.2.1 Mode Selector Knob - Each of the compass system controllers
shall have a mode selector switch knob which shall conform to the
requirements of MIL-K-25049 in accordance with the following:
