MIL-C-38418E(AS)
4.6.5.3.3 Pitch Correspondence and Rotational Polarity - The
displacement gyroscope shall be positioned to a nose-up pitch angle of
30. The transmitted pitch signal from the electronic control
amplifier shall be 30 1. The displacement gyroscope  shall be
returned to a level position.
4.6.5.3.4 Heading Set Function
4.6.5.3.4.1 DG Mode - The heading set control knob on the compass system
controller shall be depressed and turned cw.
The transmitted heading
signal  shall increase at a  rate which is adjustable with low rate
corresponding to small deflection angle.
4.6.5.3.4.2 SLAVED Mode - Turn the mode selector switch on the compass
system controller to  the SLAVED position.
With the compass system
controller  having the timed automatic synchronization specified in
3.8.3.2,  synchronization  will take place automatically with 10 2
seconds after switching  to the SLAVED mode.
For models not having
automatic synchronization, synchronize the control assembly by depressing
and holding the heading set control.  When the transmitted heading signal
has stopped rotating,  it shall remain stable while the heading set
control knob on the compass system controller remains depressed.  Release
the heading set control knob.  The following procedures shall then be
accomplished:
a.
Turn the mode selector switch on the compass system
controller to the DG position.
b.
Depress the heading set control knob on the compass system
controller,  deflect it cw for 1 to 3 seconds, then release it without
returning it to center position.
c.
Turn the mode selector switch on the compass system
controller to the SLAVED position.  The sync indicator pointer on the
compass system controller shall show a positive (+) deflection.  With the
timed automatic synchronization function, the sync indicator pointer on
the compass  system controller will return to center position as  the
control assembly automatically synchronizes.
d.
Turn the mode selector switch on the compass system
controller to the DG position.
4.6.5.3.5 Slaving Rate and Correspondence -  The slaving rate and
correspondence test shall be conducted as follows:
