VMRS 34-001-0XX
Lamps - Working, Operational.
As specified, provide min. 2-ea. sealed beam
work lamps on the trailer body to illuminate
the work area.
As shown in figure 11, provide work lamps per
SAE J598, 12-volt sealed beam unit, PAR 46,
Trade No. 4478, installed in shock mount
rubber ring, construction-equipment-type lamp
housing.
Mount lamp housing on the trailer body. Intall
1 ea. lamp on curbside and 1 ea. lamp on
roadside, as far apart as possible and as high as
practicable without any part of these lamps
being outside of the trailer body perimeter.
Mount lamps in accordance with SAE J589.
Aim the two inboard or lower lamps to
illuminate the rearward working area. Provide
SAE J533 circuit breakers, min. 14GA
SAE J1128 Type STS or HTS wire, and
SAE J561 spade terminals throughout. Provide
labled floodlamp switches on trailer body.
Min. 20-amp lamp rating capacity of each
switch. Provide driver control or the work area
by a switch. Provide adjacent amber (yellow)
indicator lamps for each switch, warning that
the lamps are "ON".
Wiring.
VMRS 34-004
Provide wiring to feed the work lamps from
the engine alternator battery d.c. electrical
system of the operating equipment, if available,
or otherwise from the Auxilliary Power Circuit
of TTMA RP No. 40 intervehicular plug,
circuit BLU, No. 7.
All wiring per SAE J163, SAE J1211,
SAE J1292, TTMA RP No.14, and
TMC-AT ARP Manual. Wire identification
codes per SAE J560 or, optionally, SAE J821.
Multiple circuits combined into harnesses.
