0.020-inch. Two straps shall be applied lengthwise to the pallet and three
straps shall be applied girthwise to the pallet (see figure 6). Fiberboard or
plastic edge protectors of adequate design and size shall be placd between
the carton edges and the strap to prevent excessive tearing and crushing of
the carton.
5.3.1.2 Level C. Camouflage support system assemblies, preserved as
specified in 5.2, shall be packed to assure carrier acceptaance and safe
delivery to destination at lowest ratings in compliance with Uniform Freight
Classification Rules or National Motor Freight Classification Rules.
5.3.2 Camouflage support system individual comonents.
5.3.2.1 Level A. Camouflage support system individual components,
preserced as specified in 5.2, shall be packed in close-fitting boxes
conorming to PPP-B-601, overseas thpe, style optional. Box closure and
strapping shall be as specified in the box specification and the appendix
therto except the strapping shall be fleat and the finish B. Like
only shall be packed in each box.
5.3.2.2 Level C. Camouflage support system individual components,
presewed as specified in 5.2, shall be packed as specified in 5.3.1.2. Like
components only shall be packed in each container.
5.4 Marking. In addition to any special or other identification marking
required by the contract or purchase order (see 6.2), each unit pack, exterior
container and unitized load, shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129.
6. NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature
that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Interded  use. The support assembly is intended for support of a
lightweight synthetic camouflage screen system.
6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents shall specify the
following:
a. Title, number, and date of this specification.
b. Issue of DODISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required the
specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 2.1.1 and2.2).
c. Type, subtype, and class required (see 1.2 and 4.5.3.2).
d. When individual components are required, and number of units required
(see 1.2.1 and 4.5.3.2).
e. When a first article is required for inspection and approval, and
number of units required (see 3.2).
f. When reliability testing is required (see 3.10).
g. Time frame for submission of first article pack (see 5.1).
h. Level of preservation and packing required (see 5.2 and 5.3).
