A boom angle indicator visible to the operator when in the normal
operating position shall be furnished.  The boom shall be provided
with a bracket for mounting the tagline (see 3.12). Mounting
provisions shall be provided on the boom tip for mounting the piledriver
adapter plates (see 3.4.12 and Figure 3).  Sheaves shall be in accordance
with SAE J881.
3.4.5 Jib boom. A self-storing jib boom not less than 20 feet in
length shall be furnished.  The jib boom shall be provided with the
necessary risers, overhaul ball with safety-latched swivel hook, and
ropes.

3.4.6 Hook block.  The hook block shall be capable of lifting the
maximum rated load of the crane and of paying out the rope without
load on the hook..  The hook shall be the swivel type with a safety latch.
3.4.7 Hoisting drums.  Main and auxiliary hydraulic motor powered drums
shall be provided.  The power down shall have sufficient capacity to
hold a rated load without slippage.  Free fall drum capability for a
two-line clamshell bucket is required (see 3.12).
3.4.8 "Wire rope.  Wire rope shall be furnished and shall conform
to SAE J959 and length as required to perform all crane operations
specified herein.
3.4.9 Lighting.  Two boom mounted and two front skirt mounted
floodlights, all adjustable and shock mounted with superstructure
instrument panel mounted on-off switch shall be provided.
3.4.10 Overload warning device. An overload warning device shall be
provided to indicate limits of crane operation at rated loads at all
radii.  Visual and audible warnings shall be provided to warn the
operator when load limits have been reached.
3.4.11 Load capacity chart.  A permanent load capacity chart with
the manufacturer's recommended load capacity for boom and jib operation
shall be furnished.  Capacity load capabilities shall be not less than
those specified in 3.2.  The chart shall include clamshell ratings.
3.4.12 Pile-driver adapter plates.  Each crane shall be furnished with
one set of pile-driver adapter plates, with all mounting hardware,

compatible with the manufacturer boom and military standard
pile-driving leads.  The crane shall be provided with a storage provision
for the plates when not in use. .
3.5 Maintenance.  The crane design, together with the accessories, shall
permit ready access to all items requiring periodic maintenance service
in the field.  To the maximum extent feasible, periodic maintenance shall
be accomplished with the use of conventional general purpose tools
normally associated with equipment of this type.
