3.3.8 Hydraulic system.  The hydraulic system shall include pump(s),
motor(s), hydraulic cylinder(s), strainer(s), filter(s), reservoir(s),
pressure-relief valve(s), and all necessary lines, lockout(s),
restrictor(s), and control valve(s) to insure positive control of all
operations and to provide protection in the event of loss of hydraulic
power.  The hydraulic system shall support all carrier hydraulic
s
operations and when manufacturer crane design incorporates a single
engine, shall support the superstructure hydraulic system.
3.3,9 Electromagnetic interference.  The electromagnetic inter-
ference characteristics of the crane shall meet the recommended limits
specified in SAE J551 when measured in accordance with SAE J551.
3.3.10 Fuel tank.  A fuel tank with sufficient capacity for at least
8 hours of normal operation shall be provided.
3.4 Superstructure.  The superstructure shall be mounted on the
carrier in such a manner to provide for 360 degrees continuous rotation
and to withstand all forces imposed during crane operation. Two
catwalk mounting clips shall be furnished and installed on the super-
structure as shown in Figure 2.  The counterweight shall be of the
removable type with built-in removal features on the crane.
3.4.1 Cab. The superstructure shall be provided with the man-
ufacturer's commercial cab with a lockable door.  An adjustable seat
shall be furnished.  A hot water, diesel or gasoline type personnel
heater and defroster with heat ducted from heater shall be furnished.
An air or electric operated windshield wiper shall be provided.
Panel mounted instruments and gages as required for monitoring
the superstructure operation shall be furnished.  All instruments,
gages, and controls shall be clearly marked as to the use and
function.
3.4.2 Engine.  Superstructure engine, when furnished, shall conform
to the requirements in 3.3.1.
3.4.3 Hydraulic system.  Hydraulic system shall conform to the
requirements in 3.3.8 as applicable.
3.4.4 Boom.  The superstructure shall be provided with the man-
ufacturer's commercial boom.  The boom shall be capable of extending
in a horizontal position to a length of not less than 72 feet from the
center of rotation.  Extension, retraction, elevating and lowering
of the boom, superstructure rotation, and load hoisting shall be
accomplished by hydraulic controls located in the superstructure cab.
