5.2.1.2 Palletizing. When specified, Level A packs shall be palletized in accordance with
MIL-STD-147, Pattern No. 91.
5.2.2 Level B.

5.2.3 Level C. The cable assemblies packaged in accordance with 5.1.3 shall be packed to
afford protection from damage during shipment from the supply source to the first receiving
activity for immediate use. Containers shall comply with common carrier regulations applicable
to the mode of transportation.
5.3 Marking
None, unless otherwise specified.
5.3.1 Special markings.
5.3.2 Normal markings. In addition to the markings required herein or by the contract or
order, unit packages and shipping containers shall be marked in accordance with the require-
ments of MIL-STD-129.

NOTES
6.1 Intended use. The cable assembly covered by this specification is intended for use aboard
submarines in transmitting fire control electrical signals from the fire control console to the
torpedo tube door.
6.2 Ordering data.
Procurement documents should specify the following:
6.2.1 Procurement requirements.
(a) Title, number, and date of this specification.
(b) Mark and Mod of cable assembly required (LD 162531, LD 162533, or DL 2865325).
(c) Assigned activity for preproduction inspection.
(d) Disposition of test samples and failures.
(e) Applicable levels of packaging (see 5.1).
(f) Applicable levels of packing (including palletizing) (see 5.2).
6.2.2 Contract data requirements. Items of deliverable data required by this specification
are cited in the following paragraph herein:

DIDs (Data Item Descriptions/DI Forms 1664) for the above requirements will be documented in the
applicable ADL (Authorized Data List). Such data will be delivered as identified on completed
(numbered) DIDs when specified on DD Forms 1423 (Contract Data Requirements Lists) and incorpor-
ated into applicable contracts.
6,3 Metrication. This document has been annotated with metric equivalents of quantities not
expressed in the International System of Units. The equivalent units are in accordance with
ASTM E380-72 as adopted by the DoD on 29 November 1973, and are included for the purpose of
encouraging metrication. Rather than exact equivalents, the metric quantities are generally
given in rounded amounts within the tolerances specified herein.
