Any information which should be made known as background information or as
instructions to the contracting officer may be included herein.
6.1
Intended use. This general specification will be used by NAVAIR
as the standard form for contract addenda for airborne target systems and
airlaunched guided missile systems. Addenda to this specification will con-
form to the following requirement:
(1) Agree with this general specification in paragraph arrangement,
numbering and headings except that where a paragraph is listed in the addendum
to this specification as "not applicable", or "no required", subsequent para-
graphs will be omitted provided numbering sequence is not affected.
(2) When paragraphs of this general specification are "applicable"
as Written$ the requirements of this general specification will be incorpo-
rated into the addendum. General specification paragraphs may be modified
for a specific aerial target system.
(3) Subparagraphs will be added as required.
(4) In cases of discrepancies between this general specification
and an addendum, the addendum will govern.
6.2
Ordering data.
Procurement document: should -specify the following.
6.2.1
Procurement requirements.
a, Title, number and date of this specification and applicable adden-
dum thereto. For example: Addendum No. 16 to MIL-D-18243B(AS) of 4 January
1976.
Data requirements. When this specification is used in a procurement

the data requirements exemplified in the Appendix will be developed into an
approved contract data requirements list for incorporation into the contract.
