i. CD-ROM review. The quality assurance process on the
CD-ROM consists of two phases: premastering and
mastering.
(1)
Premastering. The premastered tape is checked to
test data integrity through a series of production
steps. This check involves conducting a series of
tests, processes, and verifications which shall
include comparing file sizes at each stage in the
premastering process.
(2)
Mastering. This review shall focus on monitoring
the physical product characteristics of the CD-ROM
itself. This includes testing the physical medium
characteristics, and functionality testing of the
CD-ROM.
