and with the force applied. in a clockwise direction, the handles shall
remain stationary.  In the counterclockwise direction, the handles shall
rotate in compliance with the requirements of 3.4.1.1.
4.5.4.2 Socket.-  With provisions-for applying the load specified in
3.4.2, the sockry shall be capable of being removed from or replaced into
the adapter.  Subsequent to insertion into the adapter, pressure shall be
applied by the hand along the periphery of the socket to determine com-
pliance with the requirements of 3.4.2.
4.5.4.3 Light switch.-  The fuze setter shall be mounted in a suita-
ble position with the provisions for applying the load as specified in
3.4.3.1.  With the three volt D.C. power supply applied, the fuze setter
shall then be visually examined in a dark area to determine compliance
with the requirements of 3.4.3.1.  When the specified load is applied to
depress the light switch button the instrument lamps shall light. Remov-
ing the load shall return the button to its normal OFF position, and the
light shall be out.
4.5.4.4 Illumination stability.-  Subsequent to the test in 4.5.4.3,
the fuze setter shall be visually examined in a dark area for the re-
quirements of 3.4.3.2.  When manually depressing the switch button the
instrument lamps shall light.  Hold the depressed button for ten seconds.
Illumination at this point shall remain steady, and slight manual shaking
of the instrument. shall not cause flickering.  Releasing the switch button.
shall cause the light to go out and remain out without evidence of flicker-
ing. The switch shall be capable of ten consecutive contacts at ten-
second intervals without flicker or illumination failure.
4.5.4.5 Continuity.-  The continuity check of the instrument light
circuit shall be made using standard measuring equipment to determine
compliance with the requirements of 3.5.

Intended use.-  The fuze setter is intended for use in hand-

setting Fuzes M562, M563$ M564, and M565.  The adapter assembled in the
fuze setter body is designed to accept an interchangeable socket.
