4.8 Performance test under simulated environmental conditions.
4. 8.1 Environmental test requirements and Procedures.
4. 8.1.1 Test sequence. The FCC-FTS shall have completed the
test of paragraph 4. 5.1 prior to performance of the detailed
environmental tests herein. The performance test of paragraph
4. 5.1.5 shall be performed before, during. or after each
environmental test as required for the purpose of determining the
performance of the FCC-FTS. The test of paragraph 4. 5.1 shall again
be performed after all environmental tests have been completed
4. 8.1.2 Tern perature/altitude. The FCC-FTS shall be subjected
to the applicable tests required by MIL-STD-81O with the temperature
requirements modified by MIL-T-28800. The applicable tests are
listed in Table VII with cross-reference to MIL-STD-81O and test
paragraphs in this procedure. Table VII is a summary of the
Tmp/Alt conditions which the equipment will experience. These
conditions relate directly to MIL-STD-810, Method 504.1, Preocedure
1, for Category 2 equipment. Category 2 results from the
MIL-T-28800 paragraph 4.5.5.2 requirement for operation of 10,000
feet maximum. Temperature limits-have been modified per
MIL-T-28800, Table XIII, for Class 2 equipments.

4.8.1.2.1 Test facility.
Tem pe rature/altitude chamber. The temperture/altitude
a.
chamber shall be capable of maintaining the specific ambient
temperature and altitude.
b. Thermocouples. The FCC-FTS shall be instrumented with
thermocouples located on all components within the unit which are
expected to exhibit the greatest thermal inertia during the test.
Paragraph 4.8.l.2.3(a).
Multi-poin t recorder. A multi-point~ strip chart recording
c.
system, capable of monitoring and recording the temperature changes
sensed by the thermocouples shall be utilized for plotting the
thermal changes versus time for each temperature critical component.
The equipment
4. 8.1.2.2 Tempe rature/altitude test equ i Pment.
listed in Table VIII will be required to conduct the teraperature/
altitude tests. All measurements shall be made with instruments
whose accuracy and calibration has been verified periodically and
meet specification requirements.
