4.3.3.1.3.1 Surface finish of graze lever shaft of mounting base (see
--
dwg.  10048784) - Major defect - Code No. 11008.  A sample of 15 mounting
bases shall be selected for the first article and tested as specified in 4.4.3.1.
Rejection shall be as specified in 4.2.3.
4.3.3.1,4 Operation of setback assembly (see 3.6); Functioning during
non-functioning test - Critical defect - Code No.  14007; Failure to function
within maximum time on functioning time test - Major defect - Code No. 14008.
A sample of 15 base plate and rotor assemblies shall be selected for the
first article and tested as specified in 4.4,8 using test equipment specified
in 4.3.4.  Rejection shall be as specified in 4.2.3.
4.3.3.1.5 Functioning of fuze elements (see 3.7) - Major defect - Code
No. 14009; Examination for positioning of locking shaft (see dwg. 9252817) -
Major defect - Code No. 14010.
A sample of 15 base plate and rotor assemblies
(less primer) shall be selected for the first article and assembled with a
firing pin, firing pin spring, and base plug to each assembly. The assembly
shall then be tested as specified in 4.4.7 using test equipment specified in
4.3.4.
Visual examination shall be performed under three power magnification
to assure that the locking shaft is bearing properly on the graze lever.
Assemblies which contain locking shafts which do not bear on the graze lever
as illustrated on dwg. 9252817, shall be classed defective. Rejection shall
be as specified in 4.2.3.
4.3.3.1,6 Rotor arming time at plus 70 degrees Fahrenheit (F.) - (see
3.8.1) - Arming time, minimum - Critical defect - Code No. 14011; and arming
time, maximum - Major defect - Code No. 14012. A sample of 15 base plate and
rotor assemblies shall be selected for the first article and tested as specified
in 4.4.9 using test equipment specified in 4.3.4.  The temperature conditioning
limitations shall be 65F. to 75F.  Rejection shall be as specified in 4.2.3.

4.3.3.1.7 Environmental and destructive testing. A sample of 60 fuzes shall
be selected for the first article and subjected to the following tests in the
sequence listed.

4.3.3. 1.7.1 Jolt and jumble (see 3.9): Failure to withstand test -
critical defect - Code No. 16012; Missing plate screws - Major defect - Code
No. 16007.  Ten of the 60 fuzes selected in 4.3.3.1.7. shall be assembled into
closures or simulated closures.  The assembly shall then be subjected to the
jolt test specified in Standard MIL-STD-331, Test 101 and then without dis-
assembly to the jumble test specified in Standard MIL-STD-331, Test 102. The
first article shall be rejected if, after disassembly, one or more fuzes have
functioned or if one or more fuzes are armed or unsafe to handle, or if two
or more plate screws have become completely disengaged.
