4.3.3 Testing
4.3.3.1 First article sample (see 4.2.1).
The samples submitted as the
first article quantity shall be tested as specified herein after being examined
100 percent for the applicable classifications of defects in paragraph 4.3.2.
4.3.3.1.1 Solid firm lubricant (see dwg. 8796419, 8796420 and 10048602) -
Major defect - Star Wheel - CodeNo.26001; Pallet - Code No. 26002; and
Pinion gear - Code No. 26003. A sample of 15 of each component shall

selected for the first article and tested as specified in 4.4.1.

4.3.2.1.2 Spring embrittlement (see 3.3). Critical defect - Spring leaf
No. 2 - Code No. 01005; Spring leaf No. 3 - Code No. 02005; Major defect -

of 15 springs shall be selected of each spring type for the first article and
tested as specified in 4.4.2. Rejection shall be as specified in 4.2.3.
4.3.3.1.3 Porosity and surface finish of mounting base (see 3.4 and dwg.
10048784) - Porosity - Major defect - Code No, 11006; Surface finish - Major
defect - Code No. 11007. A sample of 15 mounting bases shall be selected
for the first article and tested as specified in 4,4.3. Rejection shall be
as specified in 4.2.3.
