4.5.8.2 Loading. This test shall be conducted by an approved method.
Observation shall be made for the requirement of 3.6.2.
4.5.8.3 Feed assembly handling. This test shall be conducted by an
approved method. Observation shall be made for the requirements of 3.6.3.
4.6 Voids in ammo boxes. The boxes shall be checked for voids in
the material as specified on Dwg. 11830894. X-ray, infrared scan or any
other method satisfactory to the contracting officer shall be employed.
if any box fails to comply with the requirements specified on Dwg.
11830894, the lot shall be classed defective.
4.7 Working strength and ultimate tensile load (tension latch).
These tests shall be performed using methods and equipment satisfactory
to the contracting officer. If any latch fails to comply with the
requirements specified on the applicable drawing, the latch shall be
classed defective.
PACKAGING
5.
5.1 Preservation, packaging, packing and marking. Ammo Feed
Assemblies shall be preserved, packaged, packed and marked in accordance
with the requirements of the preservation and Packaging Data Sheet
11830886.
5.1.1 Spare parts or replacement parts. Spare parts or replacement
parts shall be cleaned, preserved, packaged and packed as specified in
the contract or order.
NOTES
6.
6.1 Intended use. The ammo feed assembly covered by this
specification is intended for use with Gun, automatic, 20MM: M197 on
Armament Subsystem, Helicopter, 20MM: M97E1 and M97E2.
6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents shall specify the
following:
6.2.1 Procurement requirements
a. Title, number and date of this specification.
b. Quantity required and delivery schedules.
Serialization requirements, if applicable.
