2.2 Other publications. - The following document forms a part of this specification to the extent
specified herein. Unless otherwise indicated, the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for
proposal shall apply.

3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Preproduction sample. - A preproduction sample shall be furnished for the tests specified in
4.2 (see 3.27 and 6. 3).
3.2 Description. - The intercommunication station, hereinafter referred to as the "equipment",
shall have selector switches for calling the required number of stations, a release light, a call light, a
busy light, one press-to-talk switch, a microphone receptacle, a dimmer control, and one volume control
switch. The equipment shall have a transistorized amplifier-speaker for voice amplification and trans -
mission and shall be suitable for installation in protected locations.
3.3 General features. - The equipment shall be in accordance with the following paragraphs of
MIL-I-983 in addition to the requirements specified herein. (Whenever a requirement of MIL-I-983 con-
flicts with a requirement of this specification, the requirement of this specification shall govern. )
