5.2 Packing, level A. Items packaged and marked as specified in 5.1, shall
be packed together as shown on Drawing 13-12-185 for M239 launcher or 13-12-62
for M250 launcher.
5.3 Marking. I t e m s packed as specified in 5.2 $ shall be subsequently marked
for storage and shipment in accordance with drawings listed in 5.1 and 5.2.
5.4 Palletization. Units packed as specified on
Drawing IS-I-2-62 shall be
palletized in accordance with MIL-STD-147.
6. NOTES
6.1 Intended use. These items are intended for use as a vehicle mounted
launcher for smoke grenades.
Acquisition documents should specify the following:
6.2 Ordering data.
(a) Title, number, and date of this specification
(b) Preproduction:
(1) Time allowed for contractor submission of samples for any
Government tests and evaluation after award of contract.
(2) Name and address of test facility and shipping instructions
when testing is performed by the Government.
(3) Time required for the Government to notify the contractor
whether or not to proceed with production.
(c) Type of launcher required.
6.3 Definitions.
(a) Launchers.
(1) The M239 consists of left and right dischargers, left and
right covers, a push button unit and two stowage boxes.
(2) The M250 launcher consists of left and right dischargers and
left and right covers.
(b) Dischargers. The dischargers are components of the launcher from
which the smoke grenades are ejected.
6.4 Supersession data. This specification supersedes and includes the
requirements of Chemical Systems Laboratory Purchase Description EA-L-1263A
dated 29 October 1981.
