3.4.2 External leakage. - The case shall, withstand without external
leakage a pressure of twenty-five pounds per square inch gage applied
equally to the inside of all compartments, when tested in accordance
with 4.5.4, 1.2.
3.4.3 Internal leakage. - The case shall withstand without internal
leakage a pressure differential of five pounds per square inch between
the charge compartment and the mechanism compartment when tested
in accordance with 4. 5.4.1.1. All leak testing shall be performed on
the finished mine case prior to the application of any coatings either to
the exterior or interior surfaces of the case and with the case free of
grease, dirt, flux, oil, scale or the like.
3, 5 Clean-up, - Following assembly, the case shall be thoroughly
cleaned of all metal chips, filings, scale or the like.
3.6 Workmanship, - The case shall be constructed and finished in
a manner to assure compliance with all requirements of this specification,
Particular care shall be exercised to assure that all parts are free of
burrs and sharp edges with attention being directed to neatness of
assembly and marking.
4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS AND TEST REQUIREMENTS
4, 1 Government inspection. - The Government inspector will make
such inspections as are necessary to determine that components and
assemblies are in accordance with the requirements of the contract,
pertinent drawings and specifications. Unless otherwise specified, these
inspections will be conducted in accordance with instructions contained in
OP 400,
4. 1.1 Dimensional inspection, - Inspection shall be conducted for
conformance to the requirements of the drawings. In this inspection
gaging operations shall be made on the complete and treated case with
particular attention to the following areas of assembly, case acceptance
of components, and fits:
A, Inside diameter of flange for extender.
B. Inside diameter of flange for clock starter,
C. Distance from flange f aying surf ace to inside bottom of extender
well,
