4.5.4.1.1 Internal leakage. - A manometer similar to that shown in
Figure I of this specification shall be used for this test, All external
openings in the case shall be sealed and the manometer shall be connected
to the instrument compartment of the case with the clamp in the open
position. An air pressure of 5 1/2 pounds per square inch gage shall be
applied to the charge compartment. Not less than thirty seconds after
the required pressure has been attained, the clamp shall be closed, Any
leakage within the case as evidenced by a change in the levels of the
water in the manometer within three minutes shall be cause for rejection
of the case.
4.5.4.1.2 External leakage, - With all external openings sealed, an
internal air pressure of 25 1/2 pounds per square inch gage shall be
applied simultaneously to both the charge and instrument compartments
of the case. With the pressure maintained continuously, the case shall
be immersed in water for ten minutes and all surfaces examined for leaks.
Any leakage as indicated by the appearance of bubbles shall be cause for
rejection of the case.
4.6 Acceptance criteria. - Failure of the Mine Case Mark 25 Mod 1
to meet any of the requirements and tests of this specification shall be
considered cause for regarding the mine case defective,
5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY
5.1 Packing
5.1.1 Level A
5, 1.1. 1 Each Mine Case Mark 25 Mod 1 shall be packed for shipment
in the Crate Mark 25 Mod O, Bureau of Ordnance LD No. 139207.
5.1.2 Level C (Not applicable, see paragraph 6. 1)
5.2 Marking
5.2.1 In addition to any special marking required by the contract or
order, all marking shall be in accordance with Military Standard
MIL-STD-129.
