Documents containing sheet numbers and page numbers.  These
documents have individual sheets that are displayed in a multi-page format.  The
punching instructions for this type of document are as follows:
a.
A decimal point shall be punched in cc 39 to establish a point of
separation between the page and sheet number sequence.
b.
The sheet numbers are punched in cc 35-38.
The number is right
justified and nonsignificant zeros shall be used to fill the blank spaces.  The
page number is punched left justified in cc 40-45.

Book form documents whose title page and front matter are
identified by Roman numeral page numbers.  Roman numerals cannot be stored in a
computer database, therefore, a document with this type of page number must be
modified.  The punching instructions for this type of document are as follows:
a.  A decimal point shall be punched in cc 39 to establish a separation
point between the pagination of the front matter and the rest of the document.
b.  The page numbers for the front matter are changed from Roman to Arabic
numerals and punched left justified in cc 40-45.  The page numbers for the rest
of the document are punched in cc 35-38.  The number is right justified and
nonsignificant zeros shall be used to fill the blank spaces.
