REQUIREMENTS

3.1 First article. Requirements for submission of first article
shall be as specified in the contract (see 6.1). Unless otherwise speci-
fied, the first article shall include the pilot pack (see 5.1).
3.2 Materials, contruction and design. The mount shall conform to
the materials, construction, and design requirements specified herein, on
Drawing F6507135 and in MIL-W-13855.
3.2.1 . Leg assemblies. With the leg clamping handles loosened and
the indexing levers depressed (see 3.2.1.3 and 3.2.1.6), the lower leg
assemblies (front, left rear, and right rear) shall move throughout their
full range of travel in the upper leg assemblies without binding.
3.2.1.1 Front leg assembly. The front leg assembly shall be re-
tained to the tripod head by the front leg clamping screw nut and front
leg clamping screw. With the front leg clamping screw nut loosened (see
3.2.2), the front leg assembly shall pivot about the front leg clamping
screw throughout its full range of travel without binding.
3.2.1.2 Rear leg assemblies, left and right. The left and right
rear leg assemblies shall be retained to the tripod head assembly by the
bolts and shall pivot about the bolts through their full range of travel
without binding when the sleeve lock latch is released.
3.2.1.3 Leg clamping handles. The leg clamping handle shall tighten
sufficiently to retain the lower leg assemblies (front, left rear, and
right rear) in any of the indexed positions (see 3.3).
