5.4.1 Levels A and B. The shipping container and contents shall
be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. The words "THIS SHIPPING
CONTAINER HAS REUSE VALUE" shall be stenciled on the inside of the
cover and at the upper third of one side and one end of each shipping
container.
5.4.2 Special Marking. The followingg warning shall be stenciled
on the ends and side panels of the assembled shipping container: "CAU-
TION: LIFT BY BASE ONLY"
6. NOTES
6.1 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the
following:
Title, number and date of this specification.
List of drawings, specifications and publications
a:
pertinent to the recoil mechanism, showing applicable
revision dates.
c.
Shipping instructions for first article and pilot
pack (see 3.1, 4.4 and 5.1).
Block of serial numbers (see 3.5).
d.
e.
Packaging inspection, if different (see 4.5.5).
f.
Selection of applicable level of protection, A or B
(see 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3).
6.2 Assembly area cleanliness. Recoil mechanism assembly areas
should be air conditioned using a unit with a 50 micron filter. The
area temperature should be maintained between 68 to 72F. The air
flow rate per cubic inch per minute should maintain area air pressure
between .75 to 1.5 inches of water. Relative humidity should not
exceed 40-50 percent. Areas should be clean and free of dust, lint
and abrasive materials that may become entrapped in assembled mech-
anisms. No grinding, filing, scraping or any operation producing
abrasive dust should be performed in the assembly area.
