The screen shall consist of a stationary frame upon which is mounted a vi-
brating frame with the cloths specified above and with a vibrating mechanism.
3.19.2.1 Stationary frame. The stationary frame of the screen shall be
constructed of structural steel members or steel castings cross-braced to
prevent distortion under maximum loads and operating conditions as specified
herein.
3.19.2.2 `Vibrating frame. The vibrating frame of the screen assembly shall
be constructed of steel plates on structural steel members of rigid construc-
tion with sufficient crossmembers to securely hold the width to insure fitting
of screen cloths. The vibrating frame shall be provided with means for holding
the replaceable screen cloth securely in place to prevent movement of the cloth
during full-load operation. A series of longitudinal support bars shall be
provided which shall create a crown of not less than 1/2 inch in the screen
cloth. Provisions shall be made for changing the cloth by using common tools.
The frame shall be balanced to provide an even flow of material across the
full width of the cloth.
3.19.2.3 -. Screen cloth.

3.19.2.3.1 Material. All screen cloth shall be made of crimping grade,
oil-tempered wire conforming to NSGA Circular No. 80, table 3, grade B, carbon
range 0.55 to 0.70, drawn and hardened as specified.

Two screen cloths of each of the above sizes shall be furnished with each
