period, the wiper motor and wiper blade shall conform to the require-
ments specified in 3.8.2.1 at the temperatures indicated in 3.8. Again
energize the wiper motor with 24 Vdc applied to Pin "A" and 16 Vdc
applied to Pin "B" for a period of 1 minute. During this 1 minute
period, the wiper motor and wiper blade shall again conform to the re-
quirements specified in 3.8.2.1 at the temperatures indicated in 3.8.
During the tests at the low temperature extreme, an appropriate commer-
cial anti-freeze solution may be used in spray form to keep the entrance
window of the head assembly device frost free.
4.6.9.5 Limit switch, wiper mechanism.- Perform this test in sequence
to the test in 4.6.9.4, and while the wiper mechanism is energized with
24 vdc applied to Pin "A" and 16 Vdc is applied to Pin "B" During a
reciprocating cycle of the wiper blade, immediately following the blade's
departure from the "O" position and prior to its reaching the extreme
travel position, quickly remove the 16 Vdc application to Pin "B". The
wiper blade shall conform to the requirements of 3.8.2.2 at the tempera-
tures indicated in 3.8. Re-apply the 16 Vdc to Pin "B". Again during
a reciprocating cycle of the wiper blade, when the blade is at its
extreme position opposite the "O" position, quickly remove the 16 Vdc
application to Pin "B". The wiper blade shall again conform to the re-
quirements of 3.8.2.2, at the temperatures indicated in 3.8.
4.6.9.6 Circuit breaker.- Perform this test in sequence to the test
in 4.6.9.5. To position the Shaft Assembly 10549773 to secure it against
rotation, energize the wiper motor with intermittent on-off applications
of 24 Vdc to Pins "A" and "B" until Arm 10542144 is not in contact with
the limit switch plunger. Secure the Arm 10542144 at a point between the
"O" and extreme travel position so as to prevent any further travel of
the arm. Energize the wiper motor with 24 Vdc applied to Pins "A" and
"B" and time the function of the motor with a calibrated stop watch. The
wiper motor shall de-activate within the time frame specified in 3.8.2.3.
Remove the voltage from Pins "A" and "B", then release the Arm 10542144
for travel. Re-apply the 24 Vdc to Pins "A" and "B". The wiper motor
and blade shall function as specified in 3.8.2.3. Again secure the Arm
10542144 at a point between the "O" and extreme travel position as speci-
fied above. Repeat the above test on the circuit-breaker and motor with
24 Vdc applied to Pin "A" and 16 Vdc applied to Pin "B". The circuit-
breaker and wiper motor shall again conform to 3.8.2.3. At the comple-
tion of this test, release the Arm 10542144 for travel.
4.6.10 Circuitry.- A continuity check of the mount's circuits shall
be made using standard reassuring equipment to determine conformance with
the requirements of 3.9.
4.6.11 Interchangeability.
4.6.11.1 Interchangeability - mechanical.- This test shall be per-
formed utilizing the maximum and minimum interchangeability gages conform-
