(Copies of specifications, standards, drawings and publications
required by suppliers in connection with specific procurement
functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as
directed by the Contracting Officer. )
REQUIREMENTS

3.1 Materials. - Materials and parts shall be in accord-
ante with applicable drawings and specifications.
3.1.1 Scrap. - Scrap formed in kettles, pails, risers, and
loading machines used in the pouring and cooling operations,
may be remelted and reused; however, the scrap shall not be
contaminated in any way and shall comply with all requirements
for the grade of filler specified except for form. Scrap
from floor sweepings, ventilators, and suction apparatus shall
not be used.
3.2 Parts and assemblies. - The parts and assemblies
shall comply with all requirements specified on the applicable
drawings and with all requirements specified on applicable
specifications.
3.3 Workmanship. - All parts shall be fabricated and
finished in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free
of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, unblended radii, sur-
face defects, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products, and other
