4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must meet all
requirements of sections 3 and 5.  The inspection set forth in
this specification shall become a part of the contractor's overall
inspection system or qulaity program.  The absence of any
inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the
contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or
supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with
all requirements of the contract.  Sampling in quality conformance
does not authorize submission of known defective material, either
indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to
acceptance of defective material.
4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of
inspection shall be conducted on this item.
First Article Inspection.
a.
b.
Quality Conformance Inspection.
Lot Acceptance Testing.
c.
4.3 First article inspection.
4.3.1 Submission.  The contractor shall submit first article
as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in
accordance with provisions of 4.3.2.  The first article sample
shall consist of the following items in sample quantities as
indicated below:
a.  Certification that each molding compound batch (see
4.5.7.1) used to manufacture the Housing in (c) below complies
with the requirements in MIL-M-48245 for compressive modules,
flexural strength, flexural modules and area under the
flexural strength curve.
b. 18 Molded assemblies (Dwg. 9366661-2) prior to molding
over test pads and adding jumper wires.
c.  Molded assemblies from (b) above finished as specified
on 9366705 (after completion of inspections listed in
4.3.2(c)).
d.  One (1) test bar (0.50 x 0.50 x 1.0 inches or 0.50 inch
diameter x 1.0 inches long from each molding compound batch
(see 4.5.7.1) used to manufacture the Molded assemblies in (b)
above.  A second test bar shall be made available for the use
in the event the first bar fails the test 4.3.2 due to a
void.  Tolerances on specimen dimensions shall be .01 inches
