Control Panel - The configuration of all panels must be
submitted to the procuring activity for approval.  All rack or console
mounted control panels shall conform to the applicable requirements of
MIL-C-6781.
Interchangeability - The equipment shall meet the inter-

changeability requirements of Specification MIL-E-5400.
Interference Control - The generation of radio interfer-
3.3.6
ence by the equipment and the vulnerability of the equipment to radio
interference shall meet the requirements of MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-462,
and MIL-STD-463.
Provisions for Maintainability - The Maintainability
3.3.7
Program, built-in test features, construction and packaging, provisions
for test points, and other maintainability parameters shall be as speci-
fied in Specification AR-10, except as modified herein.  The Maintenance
Concept to be implemented in the Maintainability Program shall be as
follows:
(1)
Organizational Maintenance
The equipment shall provide fault isolation to
the WRA, utilizing BITE and supplementary
procedures employing standard support equipment
such as voltmeters and oscilloscopes.  Under no
circumstances will "carry-on" organizational
test equipment be considered a viable supplement
to BITE.  Repair will be by replacement with a
serviceable WRA, and the repair verified.
Faulty WRA's will be sent to the intermediate
level for repair.  The BITE shall include the
capability for an Operational Readiness Test.
Intermediate Level
(2)
Repair will consist of fault isolation to the
SRA utilizing common and special support equip-
ment, and replacement with a serviceable item.
The repair will be verified and the faulty
items will be returned to the depot for repair.
Depot Level
(3)
This level includes all maintenance actions
beyond the capability of the intermediate
level, including repair of WRA's and SRA's by
replacement of the faulty component(s).
3.3.7.1 Compatibility with VAST - VAST compatibility is not required.
